After receiving his bachelor's degree in applied biology and molecular genetics at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences and the University of Dundee, Markus Doll completed his master's degree in biological sciences with a focus on genetics at the University of Cologne.
Subsequently, he conducted his doctoral research on the molecular mechanisms of aging and age-related diseases at the CECAD Research Center in Cologne, focusing in particular on the regulation of the DNA damage response and programmed cell death by microRNAs.
Through his studies and research activities, Markus Doll acquired extensive knowledge in the fields of molecular biology, genetic engineering in animals and plants, microbiology, virology, immunology as well as biochemistry and gained practical experience in the use of numerous innovative technologies including, e.g., CRISPR/Cas or next-generation sequencing.
Markus Doll joined the Kroher Strobel team in 2019. His main tasks include drafting patent applications, conducting application procedures, preparing freedom-to-operate analyses, and registering supplementary protection certificates (SPC).
